Once again, Scott, the kids and myself participating with Scott's siblings in the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. This year, Scott thought it would be cute to decorate the jogging stroller like a sleigh. He pushed it and his 3 brothers wore reindeer antlers and "pulled the sleigh". Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of all of them, but I did get a shot of the girls in the sleigh. By the finish line the boys had given up on being roped to the sleigh, so I only got a shot of Scott and the girls finishing up the 5 mile race. Crickett, Adam, Harbin, Ella and myself walked the 3 mile fun run/walk.
After the race we headed back to the Tinney's house for our Thanksgiving feast. We had about 30 people this year including lots of children. Ella wore the Turkey dress that was made for Catherine a few years ago and she was sad she didn't get to enjoy any of the wonderful food that day (she keeps reaching for food, but she's still strictly on the mommy milk diet).
Apparently after we ate, we all got a little too lazy to watch the children. You can see from the picture that Lydia got into a little mischeif. In the picture, it looks as though she has a bloody/black eye, but really that's cranberry sauce (what you can't see in the pic is the butter in her hair). Note for next year- don't move all the cranberry sauce and butter to the kid table when taking down the other table.
We had a lot to be thankful for this year... so many people are struggling with jobs and homes and money. Scott has two jobs, we have two houses, and despite paying a mortgage and a rent since July, we've managed to stay in the black. In addition, we've added a beautiful little girl to our family, our children are healthy and growing and we've been fortunate to find a new church home that we all love.
I hope everyone else can find a few things to be thankful for this year!!
The mom.
