A much overdue Triathlon update

Scott spent all last semester training diligently for his first Olympic-distance triathlon----I spent all this semester procrastinating the post about how he did---SORRY!!!

The Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon was on July 12th near the Tennessee River waterfront in Chattanooga. Scott trained with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training and competed alongside many other volunteers also training to raise funds and awareness for the "cure to end all blood-related cancers."

Scott's training paid off and he did EXCELLENT in the race. The distances were longer than he had ever competed in before, a 1.5K swim, 42K bike and a 10K run. Despite stopping for a cramped leg on the run, he completed the entire race in 2 hours, 40 minutes and 59 seconds. He placed among the top third in his age group.

Harbin, Catherine, and Lydia oved to cheer Daddy on and enjoyed holding the signs we had created to support him. My friend, Jamie, was there to cheer on her husband and Scott's training partner, Derek, who was also competing. You should also take note of the picture where Scott has his finger pointed... that would be "wait, don't take the timing chip off my foot, I am about to vomit." And that he did!! I was proud of myself for now being such a pro at taking triathlon pics, I acutally captured that pic instead of the one of him throwing up :)

We are super proud of the boys for finishing so well. I know they had a fun, but exhausting race, and I look forward to them doing it again next year!!

Thanks to everyone who donated towards Scott's fundraising efforts. We appreciate the generosity you showed and I know that the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society appreciates your help in their research efforts!!

THANKS!
The mom.
