Going to the Chapel...

On July 11th, Scott's brother, Bo, married his beautiful bride, Sarah, and we are excited to welcome her to the family. The day was wonderful and everyone looked amazing. Scott was a groomsman, Harbin was a ring bearer, and Catherine was a flower girl. The kids looked adorable!!

Enjoy the slideshow of pics and congratulations to the newlyweds!!!

Watermelon and Cake

Since we were traveling a lot this summer, we didn't have time to celebrate Lydia's birthday altogether as a big event, so instead we had three smaller events- one in Florida, Chattanooga and Atlanta. In Florida we celebrated as a family and ate at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster (ok, any restaurant with food is her favorite, so we let Scott pick). The kids picked out gifts that they gave her and she even got a small smash cake (our waiter earned his tip). On the way out, the kids all got to touch the lobsters and Lydia was so fearless, we thought she might even give one a kiss.

Both the Atlanta and Chattanooga parties were similar with a watermelon theme and brightly colored pink and green decorations.

She LOVED the cake (a mommy's girl for sure). In Chattanooga, we were at the park and she was sitting on the ground eating cake with the other kids. Eventually she got up, collected forks and started eating everyone's cake. In Atlanta, she definitely had fun shoving handfuls of cake in her mouth, icing everywhere.

We appreciate all of the wonderful gifts she received and the time everyone took to celebrate with us.

Enjoy all of the pictures.

Happy Birthday Aunt Kristen

For Kristen's birthday (back in July), we invited her and Wesley up to Chattanooga to go to the aquarium. The kids emjoyed getting to show their cousin all of the fish and I think Wesley especially liked the NEMO fish. It was hard to keep them altogether and capture a picture of it, but I got some good shots of them in duos. The other children in the pics are Benjamin and Caroline (Crickett nannies for them) and my kids enjoy getting to see them in Chattanooga probably more than getting to see the fish.

If you look closely at the one picture of just Wesley you will notice a butterfly on his back. I don't know that he ever knew it was there, but we thought it was pretty neat!!

Enjoy!

Independence Day

...I guess more specifically I should say The Fourth of July since we have
"independence day" almost everyday in our home (something about having a 2 year old).

We celebrated in Chattanooga this year and didn't make a huge event of it, but we had great fun. For lunch, we had a pool party/cookout with the Tinney's and the Rankin's (Scott's brother, Bo's fiance's family). The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and over our stay Harbin and Catherine started getting brave. Harbin was jumping off the diving board (with swimmies) and Catherine had no fear swimming around in her swimmies.

Later that evening our family and some of Scott's family traveled to the drive in theater where we enjoyed a small fireworks show before watching Ice Age 2 and Night at the Museum 2. Since the movies don't start until dark, the second movie lasted until almost 1am and Harbin stuck it out. The little ones left, already asleep after the 1st movie, but they seemed to enjoy the popcorn until they crashed.

We are back at home now, so I will hopefully be catching up on blog posts on a more regular basis. Future posts include...
...A Cousin's Aquarium Trip
...Lydia's Watermelon Birthdays
...The Wedding- Bo and Sarah
...Tri-ing for a cure. Scott's Triathlon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
...Say Cheese
...Finally a vacation
