...IT'S A GIRL!!!

We had an ultrasound last Thursday and it has been confirmed that baby # 3 is another little girl. We have decided to name her Lydia Noelle, although Harbin refuses to call her anything other than Chik-Fil-A (of course, he also smiles and declares it's a boy whenever asked).

I have ultrasound pics that I will upload soon!

1 yr and 3yr check ups

Catherine had her one year check up today and everything went well. She was 17 pounds 12 ounces which is about the 5th percentile. Amazingly she measured 28 inches and is in the 10th-25th percentile for height. She was a trooper and handled her four vaccinations as well as could be expected. She is still napping and hopefully will feel ok when she wakes up.

Harbin had his 3 year check up today and for the first time ever he easily made the growth chart. He gained nine pounds (good thing I don't gain like that) weighing in at 29 pounds 9 ounces. He has moved to the 25th percentile for weight and remains in the 25th-50th percentile for height, measuring 37 inches. He was thankful that no shots were required for him today!!

Harbin turns 3

Friday, February 15th, was Harbin's 3rd birthday and in tradition Tinney baby style, he woke up with a fever. Forunately this was his second day of feeling yucky and by mid afternoon his fever had gone away without meds and he was well on his way to feeling better.

For lunch, we asked Harbin what he wanted to eat and he said chicken and french fries. We decided on O'Charley's. Although they don't sing anymore, they did bring him his own birthday dessert and we sang as a family.

After much contemplation, we decided that after his nap he seemed well enough to go to the Jumping place near our house. They do a party for kids every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month and it happened to coincide with Harbin's birthday.
Catherine and Harbin had a blast playing. Catherine enjoyed the big slide and even got to where she would go down by herself.

Harbin was hilarious!! Our usual shy and reserved child (well in public anyhow) was outgoing as ever. They put on a bubble show and asked if anyone wanted to try- without hesitation, he jumped right up front and took the bubble wand from the lady. Later, he joined the kids in playing with the parachute, eventually getting bored with that and deciding that jumping was much more fun.

We travelled upstairs to the "treehouse" for pizza and popcorn. While waiting for the pizza to arrive, the lady asked if anyone wanted to sing karaoke. I don't think Harbin fully understood what she was asking but after one child sang the Sponge Bob Square Pants theme song, Harbin had to try- trust me, he's no stranger to the microphone. He jumped up there and made up words to the entire song (since my poor deprived child has no idea who Sponge Bob is much less the words to the theme song). After eating, they recognized the 4 birthday kids that were there and asked if any of them wanted to say anything. Harbin was by far the youngest, but he jumped right up to the microphone and sang Happy Birthday to everyone. He was absolutely adorable!!

All-in-all he seemed to have a good birthday. It started out a little rocky, but as the day progressed he felt better and played hard that evening.

Oh, and the picture of Harbin with Spiderman- he is showing Spiderman the Spiderman on his shirt!!

Atlanta Zoo

We had a wonderful family day filled with fun at the Zoo!!! We had planned to take Catherine to the Zoo on her birthday, but since she was sick, we had to reschedule. Scott had the day off of work and we decided to head out to the Atlanta Zoo. I haven't been since I was in Elementary school in Augusta and Scott hasn't been in awhile either. Catherine has never been to the Zoo and this was Harbin's first time at the Atlanta Zoo. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was sunny and just warm enough.
Harbin said that his favorite animals were the Giraffes and the Elephants. Catherine seemed to like the turtles. She pointed and said "Ta" everytime we saw a different turtle. The Giant Turtle was her favorite.

We all got a kick out of watching the Orangutan's swing from the trees. Scott later tried it on the monkey bars- not quite as swift and agile as the orangutan, but an excellent attempt nonetheless.

At the petting zoo, Harbin enjoyed getting to touch all of the animals. He didn't hesitate at all and got to pet the sheep, goats, and pigs. Catherine wasn't so sure about petting them, although she did get to touch the pig.

They had a playground near the zoo exit, where the kids had fun playing. Harbin even helped his little sister by catching her at the bottom of the slide.All-in-all, it was a wonderful trip. After seeing the Kangaroo's, Scott got a craving for Outback, so we stopped for dinner on our way home. I am excited to go back to the zoo (it's really not that expensive at all)!! Check out all of our Zoo pictures tomorrow by looking at the link on the right.

Bugs and Birthdays

My little girl turned 1 today!!! Poor girl woke up throwing up and most of the day was followed with an upset stomach and sleeping. She has some kind of stomach bug that we are all hoping is over tomorrow and that none of us get it!
Fortunately, she took a long nap and felt up to celebrating a little tonight. She even got to eat some pancakes and cake with icing (we won't mention the icing that came back up on me later).
We plan to have Harbin and Catherine's parties together, so here are some pictures of our small family party tonight. Enjoy! (Check out the rest of the pics by following the link on the right side of the blog.)
